How to Use the Acer CP314-1HN-C11N Chromebook

Setting Up Your Chromebook

1. Unbox your Acer CP314-1HN-C11N Chromebook.
2. Plug in the charger and connect it to a power outlet.
3. Press the power button to turn on your Chromebook.
4. Select your preferred language on the welcome screen.
5. Connect to a Wi-Fi network:
• Select your Wi-Fi network from the list.
• Enter the password for your Wi-Fi network and click “Connect.”
6. Sign in with your Google account or create a new one if necessary.

Basic Navigation

• Use the trackpad to move the cursor on the screen.
• Tap the trackpad to select items or double-tap to open files.
• Use the bottom right corner to access the system tray and settings.
• Open applications from the app launcher (circle icon on the bottom left).

Using Applications

1. To open an application, click on the app icon in the app launcher.
2. Use the “Files” app to manage documents, images, and downloads.
3. For web browsing, click on the “Chrome” icon to access the internet.
4. Use Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides for creating documents and spreadsheets.

Connecting Devices

• To connect external devices, use the USB ports:
• Connect USB devices (like flash drives) to the USB 3.2-Type-A ports.
• Use the USB Type-C port for charging or connecting external displays.
• To connect to an HDMI-compatible display:
• Plug an HDMI cable into the HDMI port on your Chromebook and the external display.
• Select the correct input source on your external display.

Adjusting Settings

1. Click on the system tray (bottom right corner) to access settings.
2. Select “Settings” to adjust Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, display, and more.
3. For keyboard backlight (if applicable), navigate to the keyboard settings.

Charging and Battery Life

• Charge your Chromebook using the included charger.
• Monitor battery life in the system tray.
• To maximize battery life, close unused applications and tabs.

Maintaining Your Chromebook

• Keep your Chromebook updated by checking for updates in the settings.
• Regularly clear your browsing data for better performance.
• Utilize the OceanGlass touchpad gently to maintain its functionality.

Powering Off Your Chromebook

1. Click on the system tray in the bottom right corner.
2. Select the power icon.
3. Click “Shut down” to turn off your Chromebook.
