Description
How to Use the Blackmagic – URSA Cine 12K LF Body
1. Unboxing and Setup
- Carefully open the box and take out the URSA Cine 12K LF Body.
- Remove all protective caps and coverings from the camera.
- Ensure you have the following accessories:
- EF-Mount
- Media Module (8TB)
- Grommets for connectors
- WiFi antennas
- EF Body Cap
- DaVinci Resolve Studio activation key
2. Attaching the Lens
- Align the EF-Mount with the corresponding lens mount.
- Rotate the lens clockwise until it locks into place.
- Make sure the lens is securely mounted before proceeding.
3. Powering On the Camera
- Attach a compatible B-Mount battery to the camera.
- Press the power button to turn on the camera.
- Wait for the camera to boot up and initialize.
4. Configuring Camera Settings
- Use the touch screen display to navigate the camera menu.
- Select your desired resolution and frame rate:
- 12K: 12288 x 8040 up to 80 fps
- 9K: 9408 x 6264 up to 100 fps
- 8K: 8192 x 5360 up to 144 fps
- 4K: 4096 x 2680 up to 144 fps
- Set the ISO to either 400 or 3200 depending on your lighting conditions.
- Adjust additional settings such as white balance and audio levels as necessary.
5. Connecting External Devices
- For audio input, connect microphones to the XLR inputs.
- For monitoring, connect headphones to the 3.5mm headphone jack.
- If using an external recorder, connect it via USB-C.
6. Recording Footage
- Press the record button to start filming.
- Monitor your footage using the integrated display.
- Utilize the autofocus feature with compatible lenses if needed.
- Press the record button again to stop recording.
7. Reviewing and Transferring Footage
- After recording, review your footage using the camera’s playback feature.
- To transfer footage, connect the camera to a computer via USB-C or remove the media module for direct access.
- Use DaVinci Resolve Studio for editing your recorded footage.
8. Maintenance and Care
- Keep the camera dry and clean to prevent damage.
- Store the camera in a protective case when not in use.
- Regularly check and update firmware for optimal performance.
