How to Use the Sony VPL-FHZ101 Projector
1. Unboxing and Setup
- Remove the projector from its packaging carefully.
- Check for all included accessories: power cable, remote control, user manual, and any additional lenses.
- Place the projector on a stable, flat surface or mount it securely on the ceiling using a compatible mount.
2. Connecting Power and Input Devices
- Connect the power cable to the projector and plug it into an electrical outlet.
- Connect your input device (laptop, DVD player, etc.) to the projector using HDMI, VGA, or other compatible cables.
- If using a network connection, connect the projector to your network via Ethernet or Wi-Fi.
3. Turning On the Projector
- Press the power button on the projector or the remote control.
- Wait for a few moments for the projector to warm up and display the startup screen.
4. Adjusting the Image
- Use the Lens-Shift feature to adjust the projector’s position without moving the unit.
- If needed, change the lens by releasing the quick-release mechanism and replacing it with the desired lens type.
- Utilize the smart settings on the projector to optimize brightness, color, and cooling based on your environment.
5. Navigating the Menu
- Use the remote control to access the on-screen menu.
- Navigate using the arrow keys to adjust settings such as image size, aspect ratio, and other preferences.
- Save up to six different settings for quick adjustments in various environments if using the optional lens (VPLL-Z4111).
6. Edge Blending (Optional)
- If using multiple projectors, access the edge blending feature from the menu.

7. Maintenance and Care

- After 20,000 hours of use, consider the laser light source replacement if necessary.
8. Turning Off the Projector
- Press the power button to turn off the projector.
- Wait for the fan to cool down the projector before unplugging it from the power source.
9. Storing the Projector
- Store the projector in a cool, dry place when not in use.
- Keep it covered to prevent dust accumulation.
